The VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike is designed to transport people who can remain seated in their own wheelchair while riding a bike. There is no need for the passenger to be transferred between the wheelchair and the bike. The co-pilot can easily be brought onto the bike platform without having to be lifted. The inclined ramp makes it easy to roll the wheelchair onto the bike and properly secure it with the wheelchair lock. The optional winch system makes this even easier. Instead of the driver using his or her own strength to push the wheelchair user, including the wheelchair, up or down, the electric winch takes over.
The wheelchair transport bike has a modern design with an oversized rear frame, unique driving characteristics and is stable. The low position of the saddle on the bike makes travelling easier and provides a lower centre of gravity. The wide, extra-steered front wheels ensure a reduced turning radius and stability. The VeloPlus is primarily used in institutions or nursing homes to transport several people. It can transport passengers, including wheelchairs, up to 200 kg.
